Dubai has presented a five-year Dh390 million blueprint to upgrade its villages into vibrant places that are healthy for living, working and-touring. The Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum endorsed 37 development projects to be delivered before 2028. These undertakings are centred on enhancing services in these isolated areas as well as expanding tourism industry within the deserts.
Probably the most notable highlight is the Saih Al Salam Scenic Route, which is a 100kilometer avenue for vehicle and bicycle use for purposes of tourism in the desert with added bonus of investment opportunities for residents of the area. The plan will consist of five tourist stations, luxury camps, and added features, including an open-air cinema and a hot air balloon.
This strategy lies in the framework of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, with the goal to bring more than three million tourists in 2040 and strengthen the positions of Dubai as an international tourist destination. Other upgrades in the rural areas are new hospitals, parks, client nurseries and other transport systems which are aimed at improving the standard of living of the region while maintaining the region’s structural integrity.
