Sharjah Finance Department Launches Third Edition of Sharjah Award for Public Finance

Award Expands to 22 Categories, Promoting Excellence in Arab Financial Institutions

What To Know

  • The third version of the Sharjah Award for Public Finance was launched on the 14th of August, 2024 by the Sharjah Finance Department (SFD) in collaboration with the Arab Administrative Development Organisation (ARADO).
  • It was a ceremony that was attended by top officials including the Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the Director of the Sharjah Finance Department and Salem Youssef Al Qaseer, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
  • Nasser Al Hatlan Al Qahtani, director general of ARADO, has emphasised on the significance of this award in boosting the efficiency and the quality of Arab’s financial institutions.

The third version of the Sharjah Award for Public Finance was launched on the 14th of August, 2024 by the Sharjah Finance Department (SFD) in collaboration with the Arab Administrative Development Organisation (ARADO). This accolade has been established with the hope of promoting the practice of putting in place highest performance standards and the sharing of experiences in other financial institutions across the Arab world.

It was a ceremony that was attended by top officials including the Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the Director of the Sharjah Finance Department and Salem Youssef Al Qaseer, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees. About this award, Sheikh Rashid said that the recognition helps in enhancing the proactive practice of public finance as well as influencing sustainable development in the Arab region.

Organized by Salem Al Qaseer, this year the award has 22 categories as it further gains its popularity and increases its sphere of work. For the purpose of promoting the award, there are planned promotional visits and workshops in several Arab countries. Such efforts are intended to increase recognition and engagement with the task across the financial institutions of the area.

An important aspect of this year’s cycle is the second Arab Financial Forum, in which previous winners will give advice to newcomers. Nasser Al Hatlan Al Qahtani, director general of ARADO, has emphasised on the significance of this award in boosting the efficiency and the quality of Arab’s financial institutions.

An initial lecture offered descriptive facts and facts concerning the award and its subprogrammes. The award is now open for registration, and the registration period is from August 2024 to April/May 2025, during which all eligible individuals and companies can register for the award.

It is expected that this initiative will be able to provide a strong positive shift in the Arab worlds financial sector and urge a move towards excellence and innovation.
