UAE: How to Report a Minor Traffic Accident in Sharjah

Sharjah: In May 31, Sharjah Police in cooperation with Rafid Vehicle Solutions have introduced a new toll-free number to report minor car accidents; 80092.

Rafid Vehicle Solutions Company is an automotive solution company invested by Sharjah Asset Management Company which is Sharjah’s investment authority. Rafid offer such services as automotive assistance on highways and dealing with simple cases of road traffic accidents within the emirate.

The accidents can be reported through the toll free line 80092 or through the application Rafid for iPhones and other Android devices. The preceding number is also 80072343 which is also available and can be used.

Identifying a Minor Accident:
Thus, the UAE’s official government portal (u. ae) defines a minor accident as such an incident that has not caused any casualties among people. As much as possible, signal or get out of your car and park it on the shoulder lane to prevent hindering other motorists.

Reporting an Accident through the Rafid App:Reporting an Accident through the Rafid App:

1. Clicking on the Rafid app icon will download the app either from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
2. Create an account: Provide your mobile number; an OTP code will be sent to your mobile number, and then you should enter the OTP code in the app.
3. Complete registration: Kindly fill in your full name and your email address.
4. Start accident reporting: On the homepage of the app, go to the option which says, ‘accident reporting’.
5. Agreement on fault: Assure that both the parties are on the same page as to which vehicle is faulty.
6. Location detection: Grant the application permission to use location from your phone.
7. Enter vehicle details: They include; licence number, date of licence expiry, traffic code number, plate number, and code.
8. Provide contact and personal information: Gender: male or female Date of birth: Day / Month / Year Nationality: Country code and flag Mobile number: Country code + number (ex: +1 234 5678) Email: abc@example. com
9. In this regard, the applicant shall submit the images of the driving licence, front and back view.
10. Submit photos of the damages done to the vehicle and/accident information.
11. Please pay the following fees concerning the report of the minor accident.

Receiving the Accident Report:

• Without patrol services, the report will be sent to your email and as a text message in 15 minutes.
• When it comes to patrol services, the report will be prepared and forwarded to the client by the on-duty officers.

• A payment of Dh385 has been set if a person reports another person through the Rafid app.
• Dh400 in case you wish for traffic patrol service.
