Surprising Facts: 20 Things Your Emirates ID Chip Knows About You

Your Emirates ID is the most important card for life in UAE, required to open a bank account, obtain various perks and discounts. More than you would think, this legal requirement holds more information than it seems.

The Emirates ID has nine security features according to ICP (Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security) making it extremely difficult to fake. Additionally, fingerprint biometrics have been added for extra safety measures.

On the front side of the visa card there is your 15-digit identification number which remains permanent. However, what exactly does the ID chip store?
