The United Arab Emirates have a new 10-year Blue Residency Visa, pioneered to pay tribute to those who dedicated themselves to conservation and ecology. The initiative, after receiving the approval of H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, was announced at Qasr Al Watan Abu Dhabi during the Cabinet’s meeting.
In line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, who has announced that 2024 will be the Year of Sustainability, our Blue Residency Visa is in consonance with this. Through this initiative in particular, the UAE signals its serious desire for the green future of the earth and the recognition of the people who care for the nature.
The new visa aims to take in and keep those who are named environmental heroes, having their unique efforts recognized and inspiring the maintenance of innovation and attention toward sustainability. The UAE can motivate people to be involved and support more environmental projects by giving long-term residency.
Alongside the Blue Residency Visa, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid announced the Youth Agenda at the session of the Cabinet. The schedule is one of the UAE Vision’s sub-strategies aimed at equipping the country’s youth by investing in them and giving them the necessary tools to create a brighter and sustainable future.
Sheikh Mohammed cited the issue of sustainability and innovation in his statement, pointing to UAE’s dedication of clean environment as one of its major aims in national development. The Blue Residency Visa reflects the UAE’s highly proactive reaction in tackling the global environmental risks with an approach that fosters sustainable practices.
The UAE is taking a stand as a leader in sustainability by incorporating the Blue Residency Visa as part of its efforts to save the environment. With an upcoming Year of Sustainability, these efforts will be leaving behind a legacy that is something both the environment and the global community can be proud of.
