UAE President Strengthens Ties with China During State Visit

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) presided over monumental two-day state visit to China, characterized by crucial proceedings that sought to improve relations as well as cooperation between the Arab states and China in particular.

The tour started with the courtesy call in the Great Hall of the People where President Sheikh Mohamed and China’s President Xi Jinping witnessed the ceremonial raising of the guard.

Hohoho During a visit on this year, AV Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was involved in the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum held at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. The forum brought together the dignitaries such has Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mauritania, President Kais Saied of Tunisia, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi of Egypt and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain. This assembly exemplified the nations’ concordant efforts for enhancing the ties between the Arab and China.

During his speech at 10th CMG Ministerial Meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, Sheikh Mohamed stressed the UAE’s commitment to the development of the strategic cooperation between Arabs and Chinese boosting the prosperity of the region in the interest of common goals.

Among the points of interest of the visit was the signing of several MOUs between the UAE and China in the presence of President Sheikh Mohamed and President Xi Jinping. The memorandum signed include those signed between Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Suhail bin Mohamed Al Mazrouei, the UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure to enhance cooperation in several fields especially the technology and energy sector.

The President also has a presidency meeting with Zhao Leji – the Speaker of Chinese People’s Congress accompanied with Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Thus, the talks were based on legislative cooperation and the search for new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.

It brought out the value of both countries cooperation affirming a reliable structure on which both the nations and the Arab region as a whole stand to gain from.
