UAE’s Commitment to the Olympic Movement Highlighted by Ahmed bin Mohammed

HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy of Dubai and President of the National Olympic Committee of UAE, underlined the commitment and further steps of UAE towards the promotion of the principles and programmes of the Olympic Movement. This commitment shows the importance that the leaders of the UAE are putting on sports as well as displays their determination to support and partake in the Olympic effort.

While celebrating the Olympic Day in Dubai, Sheikh Ahmed stressed that it remains one of the best ways through which the required values and principles are fostered. He also commented on having observed that these values, including sportsmanship, fair play, and unity, give real meaning to the Olympic move, because they help to improve the performance of the athletes and do create a brotherhood among concrete competitors all over the globe.

Annual Olympic Day, celebrated in conjunction with National Olympic Committees nationwide is a symbolic global celebration of the IOC’s establishment on the 23rd of June, 1894. Being the physical activity and healthy eating campaign, this year’s theme is ‘Let’s Move and Celebrate. ’

The UAE National Olympic Committee Was Very Proud of Its Participation in the Olympic Day Events in Cooperation with the IOC. For the second year in a row, the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa in Dubai, showcased the IOC logo, five rings logos and the Paris 2024 Olympics logo indicating the continued commitment of UAE to the Olympics.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has stated how proud he was about attending the event, which occurred three weeks prior to the Paris Olympic Games. Scoring a brilliant performance and bringing pride to nation was another notion he made while mentioning that the UAE team will be participating in the Paris Olympics next month is a great chance in contributing to call for great achievements.
