This is good news for the UAE residents for it has been declared that they do not need any extra papers for visiting Romania and Bulgaria if they already possess a Schengen visa. To recall, the two countries voices their approval for being the newest members of Schengen Area starting New Year’s Day which now makes the booth 29 countries in Schengen.
It occurred after EU interior ministers voted on December 12, 2024 to scrap restrictions on the free movement of people across most of the union’s internal land border with Romania and Bulgaria. These entries represent the final steps in the process of membership that began with the initial evaluations of their candidacies in 2011.
As much as visitors love Romania and Bulgaria on their holiday, the two countries缃 area part of Schengen that enables tourists to move from one country to the other without having to go through immigration checks. In January 2024 border controls at air and sea have also been lifted and preparations for the complete integration of those into the European Schengen area have been made.
This innovation gives UAE residents a chance for an inspiring cultural and sightseeing trip to Romania and Bulgaria with their impressive culture and historical sites. They have now opened up for tourists and more flexibility and ease for those willing to tour Europe.
Now, with almost 450 million of people in the Schengen Area, this expansion strengthens the position of the region as a sign of European integration.
