Greece’s Prime Minister Receives MWL Chief in Athens

RIYADH: Greek Prime Minsiter Kyriakos Mitsotakis meets the secretary general of the Muslim World League in Athens as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Tuesday.

Within the meeting, Mitsotakis and Al-Issa expressed views about several issue in common. Al-Issa, who happens to be the chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, underlied the basic Islamic tenets of coexistence and comprehensiveness during his speech. He clearly expressed his appreciation of a warm welcome and the positive statements made towards the effect on Islamic civilization.

Following on from the meeting that he had with the prime minister, he met with multiple Muslim religious authorities in Greece like muftis and imams. He further obtained the privilege of visiting Athens Mosque where he could only express his satisfaction at the extra dialogues taking place there.

During this tour, Al-Issa had a remarkable meeting with Ieronymos II who is the Archibishop of Athens and All Greece. Both leaders focused the point regarding religious leaders being the key actors of addressing different types of conflict such as religious, racial, and civilization conflicts on the global scene.
