Jumeirah Mosque, Dubai

One of Dubai’s most well-known landmarks, Jumeirah Mosque opened in 1979 as a gift from the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, father of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Located in Jumeirah 1, the mosque is known for its educational “Open Doors. Open Minds.” programme, which allows visitors to learn about Emirati culture and Islamic traditions.
Guided tours typically last around 75 minutes and include light Emirati refreshments served in a traditional majlis setting.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Abu Dhabi

Among the most famous landmarks in the UAE, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is the largest mosque in the country and one of the most impressive in the world.
Commissioned by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the mosque features 82 domes, more than 1,000 columns and reflective pools surrounding the complex.
Inside, visitors can admire marble halls, gold-plated chandeliers and intricate mosaic designs. The mosque welcomes people from around the world and can accommodate up to 50,000 worshippers.
Imam Al-Tayeb Mosque, Abu Dhabi

Located within the Abrahamic Family House on Saadiyat Island, the Imam Al-Tayeb Mosque forms part of a unique interfaith complex alongside a church and synagogue.
The mosque features a minimalist design with seven arches, reflecting the symbolic importance of the number seven in Islamic tradition.
Inside the prayer hall, nine rising vaults create a calm and light-filled environment oriented toward Mecca. Visitors can also explore the complex’s peaceful gardens and communal spaces.
Al Noor Mosque, Sharjah

Overlooking Khalid Lagoon, Al Noor Mosque is one of Sharjah’s most striking religious landmarks.
The mosque follows a classic Ottoman design, with 34 domes and elegant architectural details. Its interior features intricate calligraphy of verses from the Holy Quran.
Al Noor Mosque also offers guided cultural tours, allowing visitors to explore the mosque while learning more about Islamic traditions.
Al Bidya Mosque, Fujairah

Located along the road between Dibba and Khorfakkan, Al Bidya Mosque is the oldest standing mosque in the UAE.
Built using mud and stone, the historic structure is recognised for its distinctive design, which features four domes instead of the typical single dome.
Despite its small size — accommodating around 70 worshippers — the mosque remains an important historical site and continues to be used for prayers.
Iranian Mosque, Dubai

Also known as Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque, the Iranian Mosque stands out for its colourful architectural style.
Located near the Textile Souk in Bur Dubai, the mosque is decorated with intricate blue tiles and detailed Persian designs. It is one of two Iranian-style mosques in Dubai, with another located in Satwa.
The mosque’s vibrant façade makes it one of the most visually distinctive religious sites in the city.
