The United Arab Emirates has introduced additional measures to ensure smooth travel operations and maintain price stability across essential goods, highlighting the country's proactive governance and strong coordination with regional partners.
UAE Activates Safe Air Corridors
The UAE has opened safe air corridors in coordination with Gulf countries, allowing flights to operate smoothly through controlled routes. According to Gulf News, the system currently manages 48 aircraft movements per hour, with the ability to expand capacity if required.
During a government media briefing, Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri confirmed that 17,498 passengers travelled on 60 flights between March 1 and March 3 under the current arrangements.
National carriers also operated 80 additional flights, potentially transporting up to 27,000 passengers. Authorities noted that future expansion of flight capacity will continue to depend on operational and safety assessments.
The corridors were established in close coordination with neighbouring Gulf Cooperation Council states and the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). The move reflects the UAE's efficient aviation coordination and commitment to maintaining reliable travel connections even during evolving regional developments.
Strong Monitoring of Grocery Prices
Alongside travel operations, the UAE government is also ensuring stability in the supply and pricing of essential goods.
The UAE Ministry of Economy monitors 627 major retailers, representing more than 90 per cent of the trade in essential goods across the country.
The monitoring system is connected directly with supermarkets and cooperatives, allowing authorities to track price changes in real time. If unusual price patterns appear, automatic alerts are sent to inspection teams, enabling quick verification and corrective action when necessary.
This nationwide monitoring network provides authorities with a clear view of supply levels and pricing trends, helping ensure that residents continue to have access to essential goods at stable prices.
Together, these measures highlight the UAE government's coordinated approach to maintaining stability, protecting consumers, and ensuring smooth travel operations across the country.
