The much expected “Emirati Women and Future-Making” conference is planned to commence from next Wednesday being Emirati Women’s Day. Organized under the auspices of H. H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak- the ‘Mother of the Nation’; the event aims to highlight the achievements of the Emirati women across diverse professions and their contribution towards the development of the UAE in the future.
The conference is being hosted by Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence which will be graced by its official inauguration by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence. Speakers of the event include Alia Abdulla Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship as well as other eminent personalities.
It will include two sessions of interest for analysis here. The first one will be titled ‘Emirati Women and Modern Technological Achievements’ where the role of women in Emirate in enhancing on technological progress will be discussed. Dr. Bushra Al Blooshi the Director of Cybersecurity Governance Risk Management at the Dubai Electronic Security Centre, Najla Al Midfa the CEO of the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre and Omniyat Al Hajeri the Executive Director of the Community Health Sector at the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre are some of the speakers.
The second session, which shall be: ‘Emirati Women and the Promotion of Tolerance and the Culture of Coexistence’, will explore the part played by women in the building of tolerance as well as culture of coexistence. The speakers for the occasion are Layla Al Hayas, the Executive Director of the Community Development Sector at Department of Community Development, Abu Dhabi; Fatima Al Kaabi, the Deputy Chairperson of the NHRI; and Hana Al Rostamani, the CEO of First Abu Dhabi Bank.
It will also pay tribute to the pioneers who are in crucial in the advancement of women in the Emirati society. Sheikh Nahyan will be presenting the awards to other women of equal stature to include Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan and Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi.
Sheikh Nahyan also pointed at the significance of H. H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak in pursuing the goals of the conference. He pointed out that she has remained dedicated to women rights for many years and this has earned her an international recognition, thus commending her visionary role that keeps on playing a pivotal role in the achievement of Emirati women.
