When moving from one job to another in Dubai and you have dependants who are on your sponsor then you may find it very hectic to cancel their visa and get new ones. But there is a better solution here – the option to suspend their visas. If your dependant’s visa remains at least good for 3 months, you can retain the visa and just hold them until such time your new visa is issued. Read on to know all about the process, the documents for applying and the costs involved.

Required Documents
To successfully place your dependants’ visas on hold, you will need the following:

  • Sponsor’s original emirates ID is necessary also recommended copy of his/her passport.
  • Sponsor’s passport copy
  • A copy of an Applicant’ (dependant’) current visa
  • Dependants’ passport copies
  • Employment offer letter and salary and profession details of the new employer
  • IBAN of the sponsor’s account
  • Application form for cancellation of visa of the sponsor
  • Important Requirements
  • More notably, the maximum time that dependants’ visas are allowed to hold before they get an employment authorization is 60 days.
  • The visa of the dependants must be valid for at least three more months.

It is recommended that dependants stay in the UAE while their visas are suspended.

Costs and Fees

  • The cost of temporing a depandant visa is Dh300 plus Dh100 for every other dependant.
  • The organisation must also pay for the travel per visa plus a refundable deposit of Dh 5000 for up to hold for up to five dependants for the duration that the visas will be on hold.
  • You should ensure that, by doing the above, it will be easier for you as a family to change jobs without the process of cancelling and reissuing the dependants’ visas.
