Because Eid Al Adha weekend is almost here, many UAE residents are looking forward to enjoying a few days away and Oman, just next door, is a great option. A short journey leads to Oman which has peaceful beaches, beautiful mountains and interesting history. No matter if you want to take a road trip or fly, here are all the methods available for getting from the UAE to Oman.

By Air:
The fastest way is to use air flights. Flight time from Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah to Muscat takes only about 45 minutes to one hour. Tickets from Emirates for a round-trip to Dubai begin at Dhs1,245 and FlyDubai tickets are available from Dhs805. Air Arabia serves Sharjah and its round-trip tickets start at Dhs1,168. You can get to Oman easily by daily flights from different corners of the world.

By Bus:
If cost is a concern, using the bus is an option you may like. Travellers interested in trips from Muscat to Abu Dhabi or Sharjah can resort to Mwasalat, the official transport company in Oman.
Every day, Al Khanjry Transport has services from Dubai to Muscat, at 7am, 3pm and 9pm; tickets cost Dhs95 each way. The trip takes approximately six hours, taking in account the time spent at rest stops and the crossing of the border.
On the Abu Dhabi–Muscat trip, buses set off from Muscat at 6:30am and get into Abu Dhabi at 3:40pm. Morning trips from Abu Dhabi go at 10:45am and arrive in Muscat by 8:35pm. To travel on a one-way ticket, passengers have to pay Dhs109.70; they may also bring up to 23kg of attache cases and 7kg of hand baggage.

By Car:
For people who like road trips, driving to Oman is a beautiful and adaptable experience. Driving the route requires around five hours and you can pass through several border points.

Hatta–Al Wajajah (traveling from Dubai or Sharjah)

Al Darah is a company in Ras Al Khaimah.
