His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum used the launch of Dubai AI Week to deliver a clear signal: artificial intelligence is no longer a peripheral technology for Dubai — it is the central infrastructure on which the emirate's future will be built.
Sheikh Hamdan: AI Is Core Infrastructure, Not a Tool
Speaking ahead of the official opening on April 21, the Crown Prince of Dubai said AI has evolved from a simple utility into the foundational layer for intelligent municipalities, adaptive public services, and progressive government systems. He announced that AI integration evaluation is now mandatory for all public sector institutions, academic research bodies, and private sector organisations operating in Dubai.
"Dubai takes a leading role in shaping AI technology and works towards establishing itself as the top global standard for AI adoption," Sheikh Hamdan said.
