Dubai: Another Dubai Majlis was conducted on Wednesday in order to discuss the progress on the future agenda of Dubai’s economic development, known as the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims at doubling the size of the emirate.
The annual forum was held under the cooperation of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and Dubai Chambers and was hosted at Qasr Al Bahr, the ceremony which the Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai. Majlis is to focus on defining new partnership solutions and speeding up the execution of capital in strategic segments for Dubai’s economy development.
In his words, Sheikh Hamdan pointed to Dubai’s role as an economic capital of the world that exists due to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. “He leads us to work hard towards ensuring that we provide the necessary support towards attainment of sustainable economic growth and ensure utilization of all the available resource in order to continue pushing the competitiveness of the city to higher levels,” he said.
The Dubai Majlis was aimed at helping leaders to discuss how the process of furthering the agenda of the Dubai Economic Agenda will be realised – D33. This strategic vision is consist on increasing Dubai’s economy size two fold and aiming to rank it among the three largest economic powers in the world and being one of the three largest economic power cities within an urban environment. More than 200 participants from the SCHWEN prove, businesspersons, and international investors, in addition to senior government representatives, engaged in sectorial and theme-specific dialogues and explored new approaches of partnership for development of opportunities.
We could see such representatives as Abdul Aziz Abdulla Al Ghurair, the Chairman of the Dubai Chambers and Helal Saeed Almarri, Director-General for the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai. The forum focused on the post of ‘One Dubai’, which entails the cooperation between the public and private sectors to enable the development of the latter.
Hearings also focused on new tracks of the D33 Agenda and specific domains that received emphasis, key industries, and specific initiatives, new market opportunities and tendencies, and orientations in economic policies. For the business community of Dubai, the Dubai Majlis provides a clear show of support for the city’s economic agenda and the vision of Dubai as the global city of the future that is forward-looking and sustainable.
