Indian nationals living in the UAE now have a revised process for Indian passport renewal in the UAE, following changes to how consular services are delivered across the country.
From July 22, 2026, passport, visa, consular and attestation services are being handled through 16 Indian Consular Application Centres (ICACs) operated by Al Hind Tours & Travels.
The new system means routine passport applications are no longer submitted directly at the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi or the Consulate General of India in Dubai.
Here is what Indian residents in the UAE need to know before applying for passport renewal.
What has changed for Indian passport renewal in UAE?
Previously, Indian nationals could access passport and other consular services directly through the Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Consulate General of India in Dubai.
Under the revised arrangement, applications are now routed through the network of 16 ICACs located across the seven emirates.
Al Hind Tours & Travels is the outsourced service provider handling applications at these centres.
For anyone planning an Indian passport renewal in the UAE, this means choosing an ICAC, booking an appointment online and visiting the centre with the required documents.
Where can Indians renew their passports?
The 16 ICACs are distributed across Abu Dhabi, Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
Abu Dhabi emirate
Al Danah (ICAC 1): Al Ghaith Tower, 1205 Hamdan Bin Mohammed Street, Al Danah, Zone 2, Abu Dhabi.

How to book an Indian passport renewal appointment
For routine passport renewals, applicants must book an appointment before visiting an ICAC.
Appointments are available through the official consular service website.
New appointment slots are released twice a day at 9am and 9pm.
Applicants should make sure they select the correct service category when completing the booking, as the selection determines how the application is processed at the centre.
All 16 ICACs operate from 8am to 6pm.
Applicants should arrive according to their appointment time rather than arriving much earlier. Entry is generally permitted only 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment.
Who can apply without an appointment?
While routine passport renewal requires an appointment, certain categories can use walk-in services on a first-come, first-served basis.
These include:
- Tatkal or urgent passport applications
- Newborn passport applications
- Emergency Certificate applications
- Indian nationals aged 60 and above
Applicants in these categories should still check the latest requirements before visiting an ICAC.
Indian passport renewal fees in UAE
The Government of India revised passport fees from July 1, 2026.
For adults aged 18 and above, a normal 36-page fresh or reissued passport costs AED 450, while the Tatkal fee is AED 900.
A 60-page passport costs AED 630 under the normal process and AED 1,080 under Tatkal.
For lost or damaged passports, the charges are higher. A 36-page replacement costs AED 900 normally or AED 1,350 under Tatkal, while a 60-page replacement costs AED 1,080 normally or AED 1,530 under Tatkal.
Fees for minors
For applicants below 18, a 36-page fresh or reissued passport costs AED 325 normally and AED 775 under Tatkal.
A lost or damaged 36-page passport costs AED 775 normally or AED 1,225 under Tatkal.
Children up to eight years old receive a 10 percent discount on a fresh passport. The fee is AED 295 normally or AED 700 under Tatkal.
The discount does not apply to reissued passports.
Additional passport and consular fees
An Emergency Certificate costs AED 60, while a Certificate of Identity costs AED 180.
Police Clearance Certificates, Surrender Certificates, Global Entry Programme verification and other certificates linked to a passport cost AED 145, according to the revised fee structure.
Adult passports are generally valid for a maximum of 10 years.
For minors, passports are valid for five years or until the applicant turns 18, whichever comes first.
AED 19 service charge applies
Indian nationals applying for passport services should also account for an additional AED 19 service charge charged by Al Hind Tours & Travels.
The charge includes VAT and covers ancillary services such as form filling, photographs, document typing, domestic courier services, printing and photocopying.
This charge is separate from the government passport fee.
What Indian residents should remember
The biggest change for Indian passport renewal in the UAE is that applicants must now use the ICAC network rather than visiting the Indian Embassy or Consulate premises directly for routine services.
Applicants should book online, select the correct service, prepare all required documents and arrive close to their appointment time.
Because appointment slots are released twice daily, applicants who cannot find a suitable slot may want to check again at 9am or 9pm.
Before travelling to an ICAC, applicants should also verify the latest fees, document requirements and service availability through the official consular service channels.
The revised system is now in operation across the UAE, giving Indian residents access to passport renewal and other consular services through the 16 designated centres.
