BLACKPINK's Lisa made an unforgettable entrance at the 2026 Met Gala in a custom ivory gown by Hong Kong-born designer Robert Wun. The creation, titled "The Veil," stopped the red carpet cold — and for good reason.
A Gown That Took Nearly 3,000 Hours to Make
The design incorporates 66,960 white Swarovski crystals applied entirely by hand, requiring a staggering 2,860 hours of craftsmanship. The result is a fully crystallized mermaid silhouette with sheer embroidery and a matching veil that cascades behind Lisa.
The gown's most striking feature: two 3D-printed sculptural arms rising above Lisa's head and holding the veil aloft — as if she were lifting it herself. Those arms were custom-scanned from Lisa's actual limbs and positioned in poses inspired by traditional Thai dance, a quiet but meaningful nod to her heritage.
"When I propose a design for a moment worth fighting for, especially on the carpet, I would try to propose something that maybe the artist has never tried before," Wun explained of the concept.
Who Is Robert Wun?
Robert Wun founded his London-based label in 2014 and has since become one of fashion's most ambitious voices. He became the first Hong Kong-born couturier admitted as a guest member to the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, placing his work on the official Haute Couture Calendar. In 2022, he received the ANDAM Prix Spécial — a prize worth $100,000.
At the 2026 Met Gala alone, Wun dressed eight notable guests, including Beyoncé and Naomi Osaka.
The Styling Details
Lisa completed the look with Bulgari high jewelry: a sapphire necklace from the Eclettica collection and earrings set with pear-cut sapphires. Stylist Brett Alan Nelson orchestrated the overall look, with Vogue documenting the final fitting at The Mark Hotel in New York.
A Historic Night for BLACKPINK
The 2026 Met Gala — themed "Fashion Is Art" and held May 4 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art — was already a landmark evening for Lisa personally. She joined the event's Host Committee as the first K-pop artist in its history, alongside co-chairs Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour.
All four BLACKPINK members attended the gala simultaneously for the first time ever, marking a reunion that fans had waited years to see on that particular red carpet.
Lisa's Robert Wun gown was not just a fashion moment — it was a cultural statement, threading together Thai heritage, Hong Kong craftsmanship, and global pop stardom into a single crystallized silhouette.
