The closing ceremony was graced by His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), alongside Mr Angelos Amditis, Director General of ERTICO. Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of RTA's Corporate Administrative Support Sector, stated that the event "marked a significant move in shedding the light on Dubai's potentials of hosting significant world events and anchoring discourse on the future of smart systems in the transport sector."

Angelos Amditis used the occasion to thank the host city, and ERTICO unveiled a new platform in aerial mobility services at the congress.

Exhibition and Innovation Showcase

The accompanying exhibition featured more than 500 exhibitors, reinforcing Dubai's positioning as a global hub for mobility innovation. The congress brought together technologies ranging from autonomous vehicle systems to AI-powered traffic management, underscoring the UAE's ambition to make 25 percent of all transportation trips autonomous by 2030.

Future ITS World Congress Host Cities

At the closing ceremony, the ITS Globe — the symbol of congress stewardship — was formally transferred to Atlanta, USA, which will host the event in 2025. Subsequent congresses will be held in Gangneung, South Korea in 2026 and Birmingham, UK in 2027.
