Abu Dhabi World Art Day celebrations are continuing this April with more exhibitions, pottery workshops, screenings and museum experiences across the city. World Art Day may be tied to one date on the calendar, but Abu Dhabi is giving the moment a longer run. The capital still has a full art agenda in place, with major exhibitions, documentary screenings, studio sessions and museum experiences continuing through April and into May. For anyone looking for a cultural plan right now, Abu Dhabi World Art Day celebrations still have plenty left on the table.
Picasso Still Leads The Conversation At Louvre Abu Dhabi
A big reason the celebrations are still getting attention is Louvre Abu Dhabi’s Picasso, the Figure, which runs until May 31, 2026. The exhibition focuses on Pablo Picasso’s treatment of the human form and includes works presented in collaboration with Musée national Picasso-Paris, with additional loans from the Louvre and regional collections.
The museum also has Young Picasso on the schedule for April 25, 2026, with the documentary screening set for 7pm in the auditorium. Louvre Abu Dhabi lists the screening as free to attend, for guests aged 18 and above, with valid ID required.
Weekly Picasso-inspired student workshops on Thursdays, plus the museum’s Art in Scents immersive experience on Thursdays and Saturdays, giving the Louvre programme more depth during this extended World Art Day period.
Manarat Al Saadiyat And Cultural Foundation Keep It Hands On
The extended programme is not limited to headline exhibitions. At Manarat Al Saadiyat, the Art Studio continues with hands-on activity through classes, workshops and drop-in sessions for students, adults, children and families. Highlights textile masterclasses, mixed media workshops for children, and daily drop-in sessions covering ceramics, painting and printmaking.
At Cultural Foundation, the calendar includes a retrospective dedicated to Shezad Dawood. The exhibition Skin of Dreams opened to the public on April 9, 2026 and is scheduled to run until September 20, 2026, according to Experience Abu Dhabi. Alongside that show, lists workshops in Arabic calligraphy, Islamic geometric patterns, oil and acrylic painting, mosaic and ceramics.
A New Museum Pass Adds Another Reason To Go Now
There is also a fresh incentive for anyone planning a museum day on Saadiyat Island. Abu Dhabi has introduced the Saadiyat Cultural District Museum Pass, which gives access to Louvre Abu Dhabi, Zayed National Museum, and Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi under one ticket. Official museum-pass information confirms the offer, while reporting from The National states that prices start at Dh120 for two museums and Dh170 for three, valid for 30 days from first use, with children under 18 entering free with every pass.
Why Abu Dhabi World Art Day Celebrations Matter This April
Abu Dhabi World Art Day celebrations continue to give residents and tourists fresh reasons to visit the city’s cultural hotspots. This extended run gives Abu Dhabi a stronger cultural calendar for the second half of April. Instead of one-day programming, the city has a longer stretch of exhibitions and workshops that suit casual visitors, families, students and serious art audiences alike. With Picasso still on view, a major documentary screening on the way, practical studio sessions at Manarat Al Saadiyat, and a Shezad Dawood retrospective now open at Cultural Foundation, the city’s World Art Day momentum is still very much active.
For anyone who thought World Art Day had already wrapped, Abu Dhabi says otherwise. The capital is still giving art lovers a packed cultural lineup, and right now the timing works in your favor. Picasso is still up, workshops are still running, and the museum circuit now has a new pass that makes a full day on Saadiyat even easier to plan. More events are still expected.
