The first week of the Dubai Press Club Economic Content Creators Programme — launched under the Dubai Content Creators Initiative — has wrapped up successfully, giving participants practical tools to make complex economic topics as widely accessible as possible. Developed in cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Economy, the programme is designed to strengthen the capabilities of content creators and expand the reach and influence of economic journalism across the region.
Programme Goals and Leadership
Acting Director of the Dubai Press Club, Maryam Al-Mulla, underscored the broader significance of the initiative. "This training does not only serve personal development but also the development of economic media in the future," she said. Al-Mulla added that the programme will help cement Dubai's position as a leading media city and produce the kind of quality content that empowers communities to make sound financial decisions.
Curriculum: From AI to Economic Fundamentals
The programme combines lectures and hands-on sessions led by senior economists and academics. Core topics include contemporary economic trends, fiscal and monetary policy, and the role of central banks in modern financial systems.
One of the standout sessions in the first week was Artificial Intelligence in Visual Content, where Dr. Mohamed Abdelzaher demonstrated how AI can generate videos, graphics, and other visual assets for economic storytelling. Participants also attended an economic fundamentals session hosted at Murdoch University Dubai, covering scarcity and decision-making, opportunity costs, and supply-and-demand dynamics.
Storytelling and Social Media Strategy
Creators received practical guidance on using Blin.x to craft compelling economic narratives, alongside tips for distributing content effectively across social media platforms to reach broader audiences.
A dedicated workshop titled "From Numbers to Impact", led by media specialist Mohamed Zamzami, focused on best practices for transforming dense economic data into vivid, audience-friendly stories — a skill increasingly in demand as financial literacy becomes a public priority across the UAE.
Building Dubai's Economic Media Ecosystem
The Economic Content Creators Programme forms part of the wider Dubai Content Creators Initiative, which the Dubai Press Club launched to develop a new generation of specialist media talent. By bridging the gap between economic expertise and engaging storytelling, the initiative positions Dubai as a hub for credible, high-quality economic content in the Arab world.
