Geneva: The Sultanate of Oman has received three international health awards from the Global Health Group of the World Health Organization (WHO) during the seventy-seventh session held at Geneva. Thus, the remarkable achievement is noteworthy as it indicated Oman as the first country in the Eastern Mediterranean region to win three awards at once.
These awards aimed to recognize the efforts and achievements of medical professions in Oman particularly in their research and works directly impacting health care fruitful to the society in the different medical specialization areas. The awards aim at appreciating the efforts put by Oman in augmenting the health care programmes and educated professionals all across the world.
Today awards ceremony was held in Geneva and Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti Oman’s MOH is attending the event. The event was held as a part of the seventy-seventh session of the World Health Organization, in which presidents of leading world nations discuss and promote health programs worldwide.
As World Health Organisation’s first recipient of such a recognition, this historic status of Oman is a testament to the efforts and improvements made in the nation’s healthcare. It also stands as a testament to the amount of effort and determination the Omanis who are in the health care field as researchers and providers of health services are putting into the development of the health care sector.
