Saudi Arabia Jobs: High Demand for AI Skills as 79% of Workers Anticipate Major Changes Within a Year

Linkedin study reveals that Saudi Arabia jobs workers pointed out that, AI skills are imperative as 79% of them opined there will be drastic changes within a year. As the kingdom charges towards the ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030, the manpower is also flexing up with artificial intelligence skills to fit in the ever-changing work environment.

LinkedIn’s data base is derived from nine million members of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and reveal a clear inclination toward the facility of digital skills. Currently, The Kingdom stands as the best disruptive digital skills in the MENA region; hence, keen on Development Tools, Materials Sciences, and Nanotechnology. Second, it ranks second in the MENA region in all the developed digital skills categories and tops the animation and computer graphics category globally.

Other trends that are being observed in Saudi Arabia also warrant attention as Saudi Arabia shows an even higher level of readiness compared to the global average: 3. 1% against the global 2. 5%. There has also been progressive improvement in gender diversity within this industry in the said country.

The employment of generative AI or GAI is gradually increasing across the globe, and 79% of the Saudi employees estimated that they will experience AI evolution at work within the next year. AI talent in Saudi Arabia has doubled in the period of 2016 up to 2023 showing a year over year talent hire growth of 24% of AI in comparison to general hires. AI skills have rapidly entered the kingdom and advanced it to the 30th position in the global AI skills penetration index, it was ranked 35th last year.

Data sourced from LinkedIn reveals that Saudi Arabia has a net inflow of AI talent; it occupies 13th position out of 154 countries in the AI talent index. The most popular AI skills in the Kingdom are the following: Reinforcement Learning; Pattern Recognition; Predictive Modelling; Supervised Learning; PyTorch; because they all play the role in Generative AI.
