Dubai Tops Middle East in Global City Index, Ranks 5th Worldwide

Dubai regains the position it held in the same index last year becoming the leading city in the Middle East and North Africa according to the 2024 Global City Index by Brand Finance. Internationally, Dubai rose to the fifth position with the results of 86/100, leaving behind reputed cities as Singapore, Los Angeles, Sydney, San Francisco, and Amsterdam.

Dubai’s success, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai says, can be credited to the thinking of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Primer Minister of UAE, and the framework of dubai plan 2030. Government-related initiatives and private sector contributions have accelerated the growth of Dubai in international competitiveness while keeping an eye on economic vulnerability and sustainable objectives.

In the Global City Index, Dubai is well positioned due to its first position globally in terms of investment desirability and future growth expectation for its residents as well as international investors. Improved Fortune also recognized higher Ranking in Reputation, reaching the highest position globally, and higher Ranking in employment factors Central City jumped to 4 th from 24 th in work opportunities and flexibility work such as work from home.

When it comes to the international trading Dubai is second strongest economy in the world and has a very effective logistic connection between east and west. Dubai has been acknowledged for nurturing innovation, and its future thinking endeavours spearheaded by The Dubai Future Foundation have created healthy tiding to add strength to the potential growth in this city. The city further receives a highly favorable score in the corporate taxation attractiveness to set the foundation that it is the best destination for investment.

In education Dubai goes on to flourish, it also maintains very high standards in both private and public funded schools. Some of the competitive advantages of the city are that it is one of the most connected cities on the planet, it is rather easy to get a visa there, and people living there enjoy very high quality of life.
