Dubai's skyline witnessed a breathtaking spectacle as Skydive Dubai athletes achieved a world-first wingsuit flight through the 301-metre Address Beach Resort, cementing their place in aviation history during the UAE's 53rd National Day festivities.
World-First Wingsuit Flight Through Address Beach Resort
Three Skydive Dubai athletes launched from 5,000 feet and accelerated to speeds of up to 240 km/h before threading a razor-precise path through a 25-metre-wide rectangular gap in the iconic tower. The formation required months of training, seamless radio coordination, and split-second accuracy to execute safely.
As they cleared the structure, the athletes released trails of red, black, and green smoke — the colours of the UAE flag — over the already stunning JBR coastline. The result was one of the most visually striking aerial displays the country has ever seen.
Luke James on Hosting the Historic Event
Luke James, General Manager of Address Beach Resort, expressed the significance of the achievement:
"Hosting this historic wingsuit flight is a testament to the Address Beach Resort's iconic stature and Dubai's unwavering spirit of ambition. This jump is all about breaking barriers and showing how Skydive Dubai and the UAE union can both be truly amazing."
A Venue Built for Record-Breaking
Address Beach Resort is no stranger to world records. The tower already holds two Guinness World Records — the highest outdoor infinity pool and the tallest inhabited skybridge. Its unique architectural form, rising 301 metres above Dubai Marina, made it the ideal canvas for an aerial feat of this magnitude.
53rd Eid Al Etihad Celebrations Across the UAE
The wingsuit flight was the centrepiece of the UAE's 53rd Eid Al Etihad, marking the anniversary of the country's unification in 1971. Celebrations continued across two days with events, firework displays, and patriotic festivities nationwide.
The stunt embodied the UAE's enduring spirit of innovation — a nation that continues to push the boundaries of what is possible, in the air and on the ground.
