Dubai Police, in partnership with the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), has introduced a revolutionary drone-based safety system to enhance public security in two of the city’s bustling business hubs: Uptown Dubai and Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT). This initiative reinforces the vision of smart city solutions as an important component in Dubai’s urban development processes putting communities in a safer and ideas forward environment.
This initiative is anchored on the modern Drone Box system; a range of drones that tracks high rise and populous regions. These drones provide constant volumetric awareness of what is happening in that environment which enhances the response time to emergency incidents and the safety of the public. This is the first time a system of such type has been deployed in the region and such development means a new level in terms of urban safety and technological advancement.
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, the Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC said that it was a ‘global first’ initiative that aligned with its leadership’s vision to create smart cities in Dubai. He said that the Drone Box system showcases how DMCC is committed to developing better, safer, smarter, and more innovative spaces for people and companies in the city.
The use of futuristic technology in solving the problems of urban landscape including Uptown Dubai and JLT is indicative of Dubai’s prowess in the management of the mean green city. This leads to increased safety, and also strengthens the position of many cities as modern centers for the development of new technologies in urban planning.
Moreover, using sophisticated drones, the city of Dubai is taking the safety of cities to another level making the environment safe and vibrant for investments and living.
