Dubai Schools to Soon Have AI-Qualified Teachers, Announces Sheikh Hamdan

As Dubai prepares for new changes in education, AI-qualified teachers are poised to introduce a new level in teaching. The Crown Prince of Dubai, Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, announced on Wednesday plans for a programme in which the education ministry and Dubai’s Smart Education developing teachers’ skills in artificial intelligence application.

This is under the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence, commonly known as DUB. AI, the initiative seeks to empower educators with technology solutions that enable learning environments of the future based AI technology. The programme can be aligned with the strategy of Dubai to finance education as a way to ensure the current and future wellbeing of the city.

About the idea, Sheikh Hamdan remarked: “With this vision, our task is to offer the students tools that will be useful in the future and to provide each and every learner with the best educational experience, backed by artificial intelligence tools. Dubai understands that investing in education is investing in the present and future of society. ”

The said programme will be implemented under the supervision of the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence and assisted by Knowledge and Human Development Authority. It will provide the comprehensive training for teachers on how to leverage the AI applications to enhance their teaching practices especially on how to use AI tools to Systemise the different activities, and how to blend the AI system to Personalise the learning for students. These will include practical training as well as online sessions with tests from time to time with an aim to make sure everyone is up to the task.

To celebrate the leading educators and encourage the further incorporation of AI in the academic process, Garg will grant Dh200,000 to ten teachers during the next AI Retreat in April 2025. This move not only seeks to improve the standards of education but also offer encouragement to teachers to embrace the use of various methods of teaching.
