UAE Introduces New Drone Navigation Rules as Operations Set to Double

The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) created the first drone air navigation service provider certification policy within the region. The GCAA launched regional first drone navigation service provider certification rules because drone operations in the UAE will increase twice within upcoming years because of autonomous aerial systems improvement.

Comprehensive Drone Airspace Regulation
Organizations operating drone air navigation services must follow the new CAR Airspace Part Uspace regulation which includes detailed operational and safety standards. It covers key areas such as:

The organization verifies that providers maintain proper licenses through contracting and certification steps.
The organization should conduct training and ensure quality assurance to fulfill safety requirements and professional standards.
Auditing and Future Planning works as an oversight authority that develops operations for industry expansion.
The national focus targets drone technology incorporation within UAE’s aviation networks for secure and efficient nation-wide operations.

Strengthening UAE’s Leadership in Aviation
Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi from the GCAA emphasized the significance of this new regulation while delivering his statement.

Safety efficiency and aviation innovation represent the true purpose behind this regulatory requirement which exceeds basic compliance requirements.

Clear certifications standards enable both high safety levels together with enhanced drone industry technological progress according to Aqeel Ahmed Al Zarouni who serves as assistant director-general of Aviation Safety Affairs.

The Future of Drone Operations in the UAE
The sudden surge of unmanned aircraft systems has caused drone airspace demand to increase exponentially. The current regulatory framework of the UAE includes three main goals:

✅ Enhance safety and efficiency in drone operations.
Higher industry growth happens when organizations establish professional benchmarks as part of their support mechanisms.
✅ Cement the UAE’s position as a leader in aviation innovation.

These rules will direct the development of air mobility throughout the UAE because industry expansion in logistics and security sectors and smart city development uses drones.
