The record was reached on December 22, 2024, when Emirates Airlines Flight EK305 arrived from Shanghai, logging the one-millionth movement of the year. Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the GCAA, highlighted the broader significance of the record:
