The English band Coldplay is planning on making history this week, through four consecutive performances at the Zayed Sports City Stadium, in Abu Dhabi. These performances are slated for January 9, 11, 12, and 14, after which thousands of spectators are expected, making these some of the largest live events in the UAE.
At first, it was stated that only a single concert would be performed, but due to the high interest – Coldplay planned three more shows. All arrangements have also been made for mass transport which includes free Dubai Abu Dhabi shuttle buses for the ticketholders to ferry the tens of thousands of fans.
Coldplay concert-goers can use a free park and ride from Expo City Dubai to get to Zayed Sports City Stadium. These buses will operate on all four concert days, with departures starting at 12:50 PM. It is done without prior appointment so it is recommended to arrive early in the morning.
Additionally, for fans already in Abu Dhabi, free shuttle buses will depart from locations including Al Shahama, Sas Al Nakhl, Al Raha, and Nation Towers starting at 1:57 PM. Shuttles to these locations will go back after the concerts up to 01:00 AM.
In order to use the Expo City Dubai and Al Shahama shuttle services, fans again demand free tickets, which they need to order via the Ticketmaster platform.
Abu Dhabi visitors who intend to drive to the venue will be notified that there will be no access for parking at Zayed Sports City Stadium. Drivers, however, needs to park at some parking places such as Al Shahama, Sas Al Nakhl, Al Raha or Nation Towers and then take a free shuttle.
If planning to use the Dubai Metro to get to Expo City, prepare for the disappointment that by the time of the return shuttle buses.
