Gaming in the UAE is set for a change as Wynn Al Marjan Island has received the first license as the commercial gaming operator in the country. This announcement is a landmark development for the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah where the new hotel and entertainment facility is being planned.
Wynn Al Marjan Island that has been planned on the Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, will indeed be a luxurious beach side holiday resort. Expected to be delivered by February 2027, the development is expected to attract sevices ranging from luxurious hotel accommodations, exotic cuisine and entertainment, among others.
Al Marjan Island is an integrated tourism development project that is being implemented by Wynn Holdings Limited which is a Macau based international luxury brand developer marketer and operator currently offering upscale branded residential and hotel properties in Asia.
Location: The coastal location being Ras Al Khaimah, Al Marjan Islands is an artificial island being an archipelago located approximately an hour’s drive from Dubai.
Opening Date: The construction work to this resort is anticipated to be completed in early 2027.
Size: It will have a 300-meter tall building for 1,542 rooms including suites, in addition to 22 private villas.
Cost: In terms of media, the total cost of the project is USD 3.9bn (AED 14.32 bn).
Gaming License and Casino
The resort will making the UAE home of the first casino which is likely to be bigger than Wynn Las Vegas. This is a giant leap towards developing a new brand of entertainment in the region and adding value to Ras Al Khaimah as one of the hottest tourist destinations. Speaking in a September 2022 call on ResearchersBeta, Wynn Resorts CEO Craig Billings echoed on the size and importance of the casino.
Entertainment and Dining
Other amenities for people’s leisure will include gaming, a theatre for unique performances, daily light and laser displays, spa and shopping from leading international designers. The dining and Lounge concepts will will amount to 22, with the possibility of fine dining of even Michelin star quality possibly some of the restaurants which Wynn has to offer such as the Mizumi and the Wing Lei.
