Emirates' new chief executive marked a milestone when he introduced the Airbus A350 — the airline's first new aircraft type since 2008. The Emirates Airbus A350 made its commercial debut on January 3, 2025, operating flight EK23 from Dubai to Edinburgh, Scotland. Kuwait and Bahrain are next, receiving A350 service from January 8, with the carrier expecting around 65 of the aircraft in its fleet over the coming years.
Cabin Configuration: 312 Seats Across Three Classes
The A350 is configured for short and medium-haul routes with 312 seats across three cabin classes: 32 in business class, 21 in premium economy, and 259 in economy. A notable shift in this configuration is Emirates' increased emphasis on Premium Economy, reflecting growing demand for mid-tier seating on regional routes.
What Business Class Passengers Get
The Airbus A350 XWB cabin features taller ceilings, broader aisles, and more overhead storage than previous Emirates narrow-body jets. Business class offers 32 lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, each finished in cream-coloured leather and equipped with a minibar. Passengers enjoy fully reclining seats with footrests, Crystal Glass and Bone China tableware, and a curated selection of fine wines and spirits.
Tech and Comfort Upgrades
Every cabin class benefits from near-cinematic 4K and 4K HDR ultra-responsive touchscreens — the sharpest displays on any commercial aircraft — along with upgraded Wi-Fi offering uninterrupted global connectivity. Electric window blinds and ambient mood lighting add to the comfort. The upgraded ice entertainment system includes films, television, magazines, and a real-time journey view via five onboard cameras.
Ticket Prices and Routes
Fares on the Dubai–Edinburgh route start from AED 1,365 one way in economy, AED 4,095 in premium economy, and AED 9,355 in business class. Tickets can be booked directly at emirates.com.
With the A350, Emirates reinforces its position among the world's leading airlines, combining luxury, technology, and operational efficiency on a new generation of routes.
