RTA Resumes Enhanced Marine Transport Services at Water Canal and Business Bay

Facilities for Dubai’s Water Canal and Business Bay have been restored by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) following improvements in the marine transport services. The renewed service currently runs two routes, linking attractive residential spaces and the most significant tourist destinations in these territories. These enhancements support RTA’s vision of delivering efficient public and tourists’ transport solutions with smooth connections to other soft mobility solutions, particularly bicycles and e-scooters, at the station.

Khalaf Hassan Abdullah Belghuzooz Al Zarooni, Director of Marine Transport at RTA expressed the significance of the improved facilities for improving the waterfronts’ developments, realizing the growth and quality improvements to life in Dubai. The improved Marine services will promote tourism, and support the concerned economy besides targeting more users in Marine Transport Plan 2020-2030 by RTA.

The first route, DC2, operates from 8:from 00:00 to 22:00 from Monday to Saturday and from 10:00 to 22:00 on Sundays, the interval between each is 30 to 50 minutes. It links Waterfront, Marasi, Business Bay, Godolphin, and Sheikh Zayed Road stations to satisfy the need of business and leisure purposes.

The second route, DC3, operates on weekends from 4:From 00 PM to 11:00 PM that links Al Jaddaf Station with Dubai Design District Marine Station. Doubling up as a transit between the Dubai Design District and Creek Metro Station, operate every 35 minutes and cost AED 2 per stop.
