UAE Airlines Expand Global Network to Over 600 Destinations Amid Strong Growth

Today the UAE Airlines industry remains vibrant as more of the country’s airlines reach to new destinations taking the total number of destinations covered to 606. This growth is due to the increase in the desire of people to travel again and that UAE has positioned itself to be a world’s best destination for both leisure and business travel.

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) expects the passenger traffic in the UAE will touch 140 million and hence the growth and competitiveness of the airline in the country continues unabated. Public information indicates that now UAE national carriers connect to 606 destinations including the combined passenger and freight distance, a 3. 4% increase from the 586 destinations which were realized at the end of calendar year 2023.

Air Arabia: Currently, Air Arabia has the largest network to cover 218 routes in several operational focus cities.
Emirates: Boasting its presence in more than 144 locations at the moment, Emirates has been equally upgrading its fleet as well as services provided to the passengers.
flydubai: Currently with 125 routes spread in 58 countries, flydubai recently increased its European market and has other plans in the same region to add more destinations.
Etihad Airways: Presently, it flies to 79 places and envisage flying to 125 places by 2030, thus intending to boom up its passengers and airplane fleet size.
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi: Offering low-cost travels, flying 40 destinations and being actively growing, Wizz Air is an indicative of growing companies.
Other examples of a significant increase in the number of passengers include Etihad Airways that has experienced significant growth in this area and now takes 10 million passengers. Those numbers are 4 million passengers in the first seven months of 2024, and 10 new destinations. The airline is planning expansion adding more flights to Thailand and commence services to Nairobi this year end.
