The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi Abu Dhabi (IIT Delhi – Abu Dhabi) that offers Under Graduate programs for the first time has announced admissions to Bachelor of Technology (BTech). IIT Delhi’s first campus abroad will offer BTech in Energy Engineering and BTech in Computer Science commence in the September 2024.

The branches of study will be: The BTech in Energy Engineering will deal more with sustainability and energy production issues, on the other hand the BTech in Computer Science and Engineering will deal more with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and right practical hands on computational thinking and problem solving skills.

With a set capacity of 30 students per programme, intakes of the proposed programmes would be through CAET 2024 and/or JEE –Advanced 2024. The registration period starts in 2023 and its deadline is the 3 rd June 2024 for the academic year 2024/2025.

New programmes have been developed to fill this gap by offering programmes that would enhance students’ readiness to enter the energy and digital technology markets and take up industries issues such as analytics, finance or IT.

It extends the developments made in the January 2024-released master’s programme in Energy Transition and Sustainability (ETS). The campus would be backed by research centres dealing in sustainable energy and analysis of data with faculty members from IIT Delhi and professionals of the locality.

Speaking to Dr. Ahmed Sultan Alshoaibi of the Abu Dhabi Education Council or ADEK, he also stressed that technological and economical advancements in the UAE are partly facilitated by the programmes. IIT Delhi’s Professor Rangan Banerjee, the Director, said that the institutional approach entails a strong academic framework and the mission of training students for leadership in AI, digitization, and renewable energy.
