Dubai Airports, in coordination with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), is stamping arriving passengers' passports with a special #ZayedAndRashid logo — a tribute to the UAE's founding fathers, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. The commemorative initiative runs through December 31, 2024, as part of the UAE's National Month celebrations.
A Tribute to the UAE's Founding Vision
The passport stamp is one element of the broader #ZayedAndRashid campaign, created by Brand Dubai — the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office — under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.
Endorsed by 53 government, semi-government, and private sector entities, the campaign celebrates how Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid laid the groundwork for a nation that has grown into a global beacon of innovation, prosperity, and unity.
UAE National Month 2024: From Flag Day to Eid Al Etihad
The #ZayedAndRashid passport stamp aligns with the UAE's month-long national festivities, which began on November 3 with UAE Flag Day and culminate on December 2 with Eid Al Etihad. Given the expected surge in traveller numbers during December, Dubai Airports extended the special stamp through the end of the month as a token of appreciation for the leaders who built the nation.
Campaign Highlights
The #ZayedAndRashid campaign features a range of activities and installations across Dubai:
- Flag Garden: A colorful display dedicated to the country's patriotism and national identity, featuring images of the founding fathers. - Iconic Mural: A large-scale portrait of Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid installed on the Gate Building at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
These initiatives aim to deepen understanding of the UAE's cultural roots and celebrate the nation's extraordinary journey from vision to reality.
Honoring a Legacy That Endures
The #ZayedAndRashid campaign reinforces a central message: the UAE has never lost its cultural roots, even as it embraces progress and modernity at every turn. By creating immersive experiences at one of the world's busiest airports, Dubai ensures that visitors and residents alike can connect with the nation's rich history from the moment they arrive.
The campaign draws to a close on December 2 — Eid Al Etihad — inviting everyone passing through Dubai to share in the spirit of the UAE's national celebrations and carry a piece of that legacy with them, stamped right in their passport.
