Dubai Civil Defense and Awqaf Foundation Sign MoU to Enhance Public Safety and Collaboration

The memorandum of understanding has been signed with Dubai Civil Defense with the aim of improving public safety and also bring to fore the relationship between two governmental entities, Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation. The targeting of the agreement is increasing cooperation in terms of expertise for formulating and executing solutions for improving safety levels and preventing risks, and strengthening Dubai’s position as one of the safest cities in the world.

The MoU was inked between His Excellency Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi Director General of the General Directorate of Dubai Civil Defense and His Excellency Ali Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary General of the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation. To this effect, the partnership seeks to enhance the sharing of best practice and cooperation in the adoption of novel safety practices in the emirate.

HE Lieutenant General Al Matrooshi stated that the agreement demonstrates the interest of both entities to come up with unique ideas and cooperation to create sustainable partnerships that shall improve the living standards of the people of Dubai. He underlined that the partnership will provide major steps forward in enhancing fire prevention, as well as firefighting and other safety measures in the city of New York.

In a similar accord, HE Al Mutawa added that, based on the agreement, the move to achieve other stringent safety standards was on in achieving a befitting safety benchmark, especially in buildings and facilities under the umbrellas of the Awqaf Foundation. He pointed out that the concepts of the partnership aim to foster the emirate’s growth to become among the safest cities in the world- involved stakeholders and the use of advanced technologies.

During the signing ceremony of the MoU; officials from the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation were taken on a tour of the Operation Room and Stand-by Facilities at Dubai Civil Defense. During the meeting, members of the delegation got a briefing on the modern telecommunications infrastructure; call center services, policies and other cooperation projects that are pursued with the aim to improve public services as well as ensure high levels of security.

This partnership is definitely a main achievement in the continuous initiatives by Dubai to protect people and buildings, as part of the plan the emirate is trying to build for a better tomorrow where everyone is safe and everything is sustainable.
