From Days, or Months, to Just Seconds: Dubai Courts Speeds Up Civil Judgments

Dubai: Tanfeeth+ programme has been launched by the Dubai courts to revolutionize the process of initiating and implementing the judicial execution requests of the civil judgments by speeding up the process to the maximum. This new system is capable to perform these processes is just a seconds, while the previous timeframes could be in days, weeks or even in months.

The move was included as part of Dubai Courts’ three-year strategic plan devised to improve the execution of civil judgements and also the efficiency of its services. Assuming this new role is integrated into the Dubai Courts website, it will be the first time a system of this type has been implemented in the UAE; further evidence of the Dubai Courts’ continuous efforts toward judicial modernization and improvement.

Speaking to Dubai Courts’ Director General Prof. Dr. Saif Ghanem Al Suwaidi said that, Tanfeeth + has launched a new era in the use of digital platforms to improve and add efficiency in judgment enforcement services. “This programme is part of a massive digital drive aiming at improving the operation of the judicial enforcement system in line with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai,” Al Suwaidi added. He highlighted the case analysis of issues regarding judicial enforcement resulting to adoption of Tanfeeth+.

The Head of the Execution Court at Dubai Courts, Judge Khalid Al Mansouri said that Tanfeeth+ represents the vision of being the first in the nation and admired worldwide. The intended objectives of the programme are as follows: The disposition of cases with speed; To increase the confidence of the public in the justice delivery system; To actualise and maintain social and economic order; and To increase the performance efficiency of enforcement agencies.

Tanfeeth+ introduces several innovative features:Tanfeeth+ introduces several innovative features:

1. Digital Writ of Execution Seal: Lets the petitioner to commence enforcement procedures without having to go to service centres.
2. Disclosure Platform: Enables the judges to make direct inquiries about the respondent’s assets and if need be, order for the sale of the assets.
3. Integration with MOI: Responsible for ensuring that his/her freedom-curbing orders, travel restrictions, and freezing of property are implemented.
4. Digital Requests: It tends to automate certain processes within the execution of procedures and also in administrative decisions.
5. Sale Notification System: Notifies the officials about the seized items to inform them when it is appropriate to sell them.
6. Automated Cancellation of Enforcement: They also lift the seizures and cancel the procedures once they are paid.
7. Automated Disbursement System: It transfers deposited amount into the petitioner’s bank records without any delay.
8. Virtual Bank Accounts: Automatically distributes seized assets to manage it.
