His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, has directed the Department of Finance to pay Dubai government employees' June salaries early — advancing the disbursement to 13 June 2024, one day ahead of the usual schedule, due to Eid Al Adha holidays.
Early Salary Directive Ahead of Eid Al Adha 2024
The directive ensures that all Dubai government employees receive their June salaries before the Eid Al Adha break, giving staff the financial flexibility to celebrate with their families without undue concern.
Sheikh Hamdan's decision reflects his commitment to addressing the practical needs of government employees and supporting their family welfare. By advancing the payroll run, the Crown Prince aimed to relieve employees from financial concerns during one of the most significant celebrations in the Islamic calendar.
Department of Finance Executes the Order
The Department of Finance executed the directive, processing the early payroll run ahead of the public holiday schedule. Eid Al Adha, which marks the culmination of the Hajj pilgrimage season, is typically a period of heightened household spending on travel, gifts, and family gatherings — making the advanced salary disbursement a meaningful gesture for public sector workers.
This proactive measure is consistent with Dubai's leadership approach, which treats employee satisfaction and happiness as a core pillar of government culture. Sheikh Hamdan has directed similar early salary payments ahead of other major Islamic holidays in previous years.
