RTA is also using Intelligent Transport System for in-car camera promote the detection of smokers and increasing inspection crusade for hygiene and safety among taxi cars.
In order to measure the effectiveness of these measures, RTA has adopted monthly operational index performance indicators of cleanliness of vehicles and the drivers in addition to customers’ satisfaction questionnaires and mystery shopper tests. From 2025, these assessments will also include the state of both vehicle and the driver.
“The initiatives demonstrate commitment to innovation and quality delivery of transport solutions,” pointed out Shakri. “They support the vision of Dubai’s smart city and seek to provide a cleaner environment and safer and more comfortable ride for passengers.”
