In a strategic decision to enhance the governance and future growth of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council has announced appointment of key people for major Dubai government entities.
The appointments were after obtaining the nod of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Some of the key changes include; appointment of Dr. Alawi Alsheikh Ali as the Director General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). In turn, Sheikh Hamdan congratulated on his appointment as a victory on the Dubai’s strategic healthcare goals’ way and expressed his sincere gratitude for the outgoing director Awad Seghayer Al Ketbi’s devoted service.
At the Dubai Municipality, Eng. Marwan bin Ghalita has been appointed to be the Director General; the former acting position. The appointment confirms the place of the municipality in promoting sustainability and enhancing urban quality of life.
Omar Bushahab has been appointed Director General of Dubai land department while at the same time he is a Chairman Board of Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment. The Housing Establishment’s Acting CEO was named Mohammed Al Shehhi.
Important posts were also established in Dubai Police when Major General Harib Mohammed Al Shamsi became Deputy Commander-in Chief for criminal affairs whereas the post of Deputy Commander- in- Chief for Administrative Affairs was entrusted to Major General Ahmed Zaal Al Muhairi.
The new appointees received the best wishes from Sheikh Hamdan, who had confidence in them to create innovation, efficiency and integrity in that they lead their departments. These appointments are yet another important milestone in the Dubai’s journey to become the best city to live, work and visit the world.
