Dubai is increasing its cultural aspirations and has launched the Dubai Orchestra Project and has officially been accepted by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Chairman of the Executive Council.

History On June 18, 2025, Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, announced the launch of Dubai Orchestra and turned it into a game-changer in the arts landscape in the region. Dubai Culture will drive this large-scale project with its partners in the public and private sectors and will make Dubai one of the world destinations in terms of music and cultural creativity.

The project will facilitate the development of a lively creative climate and assist Dubai Creative Economy Strategy and Dubai Social Agenda 33, as it has been announced by Sheikha Latifa on Instagram. One of the major milestones among them is the idea to have 50 percent of members Emirati talent making up the orchestra by 2033, which gives a clear picture of the determination of the UAE to ensure cultivation of local high-quality art.

Key Objectives:
Develop a vibrant ecosystem which helps the music industry to grow

Support up and coming musicians and indigenous artists

Culminate and support the music heritage of the region in the global world

Activate the general society of the arts and culture-Dubai

Key Initiatives:
Music development programmes for the youth

Opportunities in education to form wanting musicians

Cooperative relationships with organisations of the local community

Internationalizing of the Middle East musical traditions

This historical development shows the overall vision of Dubai to be on top of the new artistic innovations and put arts and culture in the understanding of the global identity. With time, it becomes clearer that both the residents and the world community of arts and culture are interested in the advent of the orchestra and a renewal of cultural manifestations it is going to bring.
