Dubai Eid 2026 is shaping up to be eventful beyond the usual celebrations. Eid Al Fitr prayer rules have changed, Tesla drivers across the Gulf have a surprise perk, Ajman published its official holiday window, British Airways paused UAE flights, and a Jurassic-style attraction opened at Festival City Mall. Here is everything that matters for residents and visitors this break.
Eid Al Fitr Prayers Move to Mosques Only
The UAE's Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) confirmed that Eid Al Fitr prayers in 2026 will be held exclusively inside mosques. Outdoor and open-air prayer grounds will not host Eid congregations this year — a notable shift from previous years.
In Dubai, prayers are set for 6:40 am, with authorities advising worshippers to arrive by 6:00–6:15 am as more than 900 mosques across the emirate are expected to be busy. Anyone planning to attend should confirm the location of their nearest mosque ahead of the morning.
Ajman Eid Holiday Dates Confirmed
Ajman's government announced that the Eid Al Fitr break for government employees runs from March 19 through March 22, with work resuming on March 23. The dates align with notices from other Emirates and give residents a clear four-day window for family time, community events, and travel.
Tesla Activates Free Supercharging Across the Gulf
A significant perk arrived for electric vehicle owners just before Eid. Tesla confirmed that Supercharging stations in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar are free for a limited period — covering more than 30 locations across the three countries, effective from midnight on March 17, 2026.
In the UAE, participating stations span Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and intercity highway stops. Saudi coverage includes Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Taif, while Qatar owners can charge free at Doha Festival City. Tesla owner Elon Musk stated the free-charging activation is standard company policy during "tough times" in the region. No official end date has been announced, so EV drivers should check their app and plan routes accordingly.
British Airways Cancels Flights to Dubai and Gulf Hubs
British Airways confirmed its services to the UAE will not operate until at least the end of May 2026. Routes to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Amman are all affected, with the airline citing regional airspace disruptions linked to the Iran conflict.
Passengers holding bookings through May are eligible for a full refund or a fee-free rebooking. Anyone with onward travel plans in the Gulf through British Airways should contact the airline directly to explore their options.
Dinosaurs: The Immersive Odyssey Opens at Festival City Mall
A brand-new entertainment option opened at Dubai Festival City Mall in time for Eid. Dinosaurs: The Immersive Odyssey — developed by ActiveMe in collaboration with Fever — brings life-size animatronic dinosaurs, virtual reality encounters, a fossil museum, and a hands-on fossil dig to Level 2 of the mall (near Hard Rock Cafe).
Tickets are priced at Dhs99 for adults and Dhs79 for children aged 4 to 15. The full experience runs roughly one hour. Operating hours are Monday to Thursday 10:30 am–9:30 pm and Friday to Sunday 10:30 am–11:00 pm. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
The attraction is well-timed for families looking for an activity during the long Eid weekend, and it joins a growing list of immersive experiences available in Dubai this season.
