What To Know

  • His comments were made on the occasion of the World Humanitarian Day 2024, during which the UAE’s continuing support of the principles of international humanitarian law were outlined under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
  • In thinking of this occasion, Al Humaidan offered a glowing tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who made the visionary move in his humanitarian outreach around the world and the UE is following the vision.
  • He pointed out that ZHO has contributed, for instance, in the “Tarahum – For Gaza” craving for Palestinian societies, distributing prosthetic limbs to the residents of the Humanitarian City, as well as all the hearing aids and wheelchairs to students of a school in a part of Eastern Zambia.

In this context, Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO), insisted to underline that humanitarian actions are an inherent part of humaneness – love and empathy. His comments were made on the occasion of the World Humanitarian Day 2024, during which the UAE’s continuing support of the principles of international humanitarian law were outlined under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

In thinking of this occasion, Al Humaidan offered a glowing tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who made the visionary move in his humanitarian outreach around the world and the UE is following the vision. “World Humanitarian Day is a constant call to remember the spirit and the commitment of the humanitarian workers worldwide,” he said.

Al Humaidan also emphasised that humanitarianism is not the monopoly of big international organisations or foreigners ; it is a part of the common populace also. The Zayed higher organisation for people of determination participates in both national and international charities thus strengthening the UAE’s message of solidarity and help.

He pointed out that ZHO has contributed, for instance, in the “Tarahum – For Gaza” craving for Palestinian societies, distributing prosthetic limbs to the residents of the Humanitarian City, as well as all the hearing aids and wheelchairs to students of a school in a part of Eastern Zambia. All these efforts portray UAE’s consistent effort of a helping hand towards the needy regardless of the geographical locations.

In this tradition, the Secretary-General’s message should be seen as a clarion to sustain global efforts at humanitarian causes, and the UAE’s plausible spirit of consistent patronage.
