Sharjah is gearing up for the Sharjah Light Festival 2025, the 14th edition of the Luminous Light Festival, set to transform 12 iconic locations across the emirate into vivid displays of coloured light, art, and technology. Running from February 5 to 23, 2025, under the theme "Lights Unite Us," the event promises fresh ideas, advanced technologies, and immersive experiences for visitors of all ages.

A Dazzling Display Across the Emirate

Speaking at a press conference in Dubai, Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), announced that this year's festival introduces new projects and sophisticated technologies to enrich the visitor experience.

As with previous years, the festival turns each location into a story — pairing aesthetic spectacle with artistic value. The programme spans architectural projections, interactive light art installations, and live performances designed to engage visitors young and old.

Key illuminated sites include Al Noor Mosque, Al Qasba Canal, Al Majaz Waterfront, Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park, BEEAH HQ, Al Hamriya New General Souk, Al Heera Beach, Al Dhaid Fort, Al Rafisah Dam, Al Jada, Al Hefaiyah Lake in Kalba, Al Tayyari Mosque in Dibba, and University City Hall.

Pushing Boundaries in Light Art

Al Midfa expressed satisfaction that the Sharjah Light Festival continues to evolve, now incorporating more sophisticated technologies to enhance the night-time experience. Every lit space is designed to offer visitors a unique perspective on Sharjah as a cultural centre of the Middle East — a city that blends heritage with cutting-edge innovation.

The festival has cemented its place as a highlight of the UAE events calendar, further strengthening Sharjah's identity as the Arab world's capital of culture and arts.

Light Village: Food, Shopping, and Culture

Over 70 small and medium enterprises will be showcased at the Light Village, located outside Sharjah's University City Hall. The village features artistically lit spaces that reflect local culture, alongside more than 50 food trucks offering a wide variety of cuisines.

Entry to the Light Village is Dh10 for adults and children above 12, while children under 11, people of determination, and seniors above 60 enter for free. A full-season pass is available for Dh120.

As excitement builds ahead of the opening night, visitors can look forward to an extraordinary blend of light, art, and innovation at the heart of the UAE.
