HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chancellor, MBRU and Chairman, Dubai Health; Board of Directors of Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Science presided over the MBRU convocation at Dubai World Trade Centre. The event targeted the Class of 2024 that has 153 graduates from the Hamdan Bin Mohammed College of Dental Medicine, College of Medicine, College of Nursing and Midwifery and Deanship of Graduate Medical Education.
The graduating class was a blend of young Emirati’s and students from 27 different countries making up almost 40% of the total, MBRU a University committed to Advancing Health for Humanity. Speaking on the status of the university, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed underscored the urgency of delivering a crop of creative medical personnel that shall advance the quality of the health service provision in Dubai. He said this mission fits the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to turn dubai as global education and healthcare capital.
MBRU Council Chairperson & Dubai Health Board member Dr. Raja Easa Al Gurg attributed the graduates’ success to the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. She underlined the moment of creating a new generation of MBRU as a world-connected university that aimed to develop a coherent system of the healthcare education and research.
The CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, Khalfan Belhoul, encouraged the graduates to be courageous as they start their medical professions saying that the outcomes of individuals’ decisions are monumental. MBRU President and CEO of Dubai Health, Dr Amer Sharif emphasized the readiness of the graduates of the program in fulfilling leadership roles in Dubai, the region and beyond, declaring the commitment to serve patient’s need.
On a different note, the commencement, Dr. Meznah Ali Rasheed, reflected on the graduates’ commitment to the welfare of others and their preparedness for the future as healthcare providers. Despite this, MBRU will still maintain and actively pursue a scholarly mission to enhances the healthcare domain and the recipients’ welfare.
