With the New Year just around the corner, it’s high time to learn more about planning your holidays properly! UAE employees can masterfully plan their annual leave in 2025 to have 42 days of festive time by using only 14 days of annual leave.
Under UAE labor law, every employee can be provided with 30 days paid annual leave, in addition to the fully paid public holidays on the annual basis, if he serves for one year or more. From next year forward weekends will cease to suppress your holiday fun as any public holidays that happen to fall on a weekend will be made up for during the weekdays.

Here’s how to maximize your time off in 2025:

  • New Year: Have a three day weekend from the 1st and start the next week on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 2-3 to have a five day weekend from December 31st-January 4th.
  • Eid Al Fitr: Two or three days leave may be availed depending on moon sighting, in total around March 30 – April 4, and up to nine days may be taken.
  • Arafat Day and Eid Al Adha: Expect a holiday on June 5 – June 12. If you go on vacation and take three days off, you can have nine days officially – fun, isn’t it?
  • Islamic New Year: If altogether possible, reserve two days between June 26 and 30 for a second five-day work-week break.
  • Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday: Take two days around September 4-8, if you need to have a five day weekend.
  • National Day: Give out a three days pass on the 1st, 4th, and 5th of December for a nine days Holiday from December 1 to 9.

Note that some holiday dates shall be given closer to the time depending with the crescent sightings. However, if you plan your leave carefully, you can be on your way of experiencing the best of UAE holidays in 2025!
