UAE President Hosts Young Al Ain Fans After Team’s AFC Champions League Victory

Abu Dhabi: Two young supporters of the Al Ain Football Club adorned in team paraphernalia were invited to meet President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on February 21, 2019 after they gained much attention for their enthusiastic cheering during the AFC Champions League fixtures. While the children’s joy was very much visible and bright in a certain video that went viral on social media, all of it pointed to a tremendous affection toward the team.

Educational – Episode with the Presidential Character

A certain youngster was so moved by the gesture that after the meeting, he had to cry and thank the Sheikh Mohamed by ‘embracing’ the Sheikh’s hands. The children said some poems in honor of Sheikh Mohamed where he was referred to as a good leader and someone who is hardworking in ensuring the betterment of his country. The President stated that he was happy to meet them, and got into the flow of talking the young boys and girls.

Celebrating Al Ain’s Victory

Earlier, the Head of the State, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received the Al Ain Football Club team that recently won the 2024 AFC Champions League Fintech Cup Finally winning the championship title. He thanked the players, coaches, and other officials, fans and the board of directors for this great accomplishment.

Celebrating talent, NOT trying to take the credit for success

He congratulated the team for having done a very good job implying that they had rehearsed in a very competitive manner, and showcased a lot of determination and strong will to win. To them, he extended his gratitude for their hard work in aiding the team towards success and representing the UAE at the international level, which he noted was a major triumph.
