Oman Braces for Heavy Rain and Flash Floods: Weather Alert Issued for August 19-21

Low pressure system from 19th to 21st of August 2024 Oman is expecting to experience a significant change of weathers. The National Centre for Early warning of Multi hazards has forecast pres rain and possibility of flash floods for the Sultanate.

There are also some additional changes in the weather to be expected in the coming few days; clouds are expected to prevail in most of the parts of Oman. It will be mainly shower?, likely to be heavier to thundery showers over a few regions including South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, Dhofar, parts of Al Hajar Mountain and Muscat areas.

This is because, the above mentioned regions are prone to flash floods as a result of heavy rain therefore people living and those intending to visit those regions should be very cautious. National Centre of Early Warning Centre is closely following the situation and recommends the people to refer to latest bulletin for weather update.

Before the onset of the system, people must be ready to face possible disturbances and make arrangements sufficiently to protect the lives during this period of unfavorable climate.
