The UAE has announced it will host the Artificial Intelligence Summit in 2028, reinforcing its position as a global hub for advanced technology and a key player in shaping responsible international AI governance.
Ahead of hosting the event, the UAE will co-chair the 2027 edition alongside the Swiss Confederation in Geneva, further underlining its expanding role in global artificial intelligence dialogue and multilateral cooperation.
The announcement was made during the AI Impact Summit 2026, held in New Delhi from February 16 to 20.
UAE Expands Leadership in Global AI Governance
According to officials, the move reflects the UAE’s commitment to strengthening international collaboration in advanced technology and building strategic partnerships that accelerate innovation ecosystems.
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, stated that the UAE’s approach is rooted in international dialogue and collaboration among governments, institutions and decision-makers.
He said that under the leadership of Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the directives of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the country believes shaping the future of artificial intelligence requires integrating diverse global perspectives.
